Jefferson Park - Oregon

This season I’ve been avoiding the popular hikes, favoring solitude over jaw dropping beauty, but Jefferson Park is one hike that I’ll make an exception for just because it’s so damn beautiful. It’s stupid busy on the weekends and if you want a camp site, you’ve gotta get up there early, but the reward is a high plateau dotted with alpine lakes, green meadows, and lots of gnarly little krummholz trees, all with Oregon’s second highest volcano towering over you.

We wanted to earn this shot..
More often than not photography feels like your just running from spot to spot.. So we opted to Kayak to Spirit Island for the full experience. Photos don’t really do justice to the absolute beauty that lies at the end of this lake. The sunset was crazy, but the stars last night were even better.. #WeDidntSleepAsecond
We didn’t bring any water because the lake was too pure not to drink out of #WeActuallyForgotWater After 6 hours of paddling our arms are jello but our smiles and sunburns said it all. Definitely one of the most memorable 24 Hours of my life. Expect to see more and sorry for the long caption.
Shot with iPhone (crazy what those things can do) with @olloclip wide angle
@travelalberta (at Maligne Lake)

awesome
